The LIS community is …

Strong and active. Our strength is derived from the active commitment of teachers, parents, and students to education and learning as a community. We organize over 200 events every academic year.

Connected and socially responsible. We are connected to the people of Luanda, Angola and Africa. Students, families and staff participate in a wide range of activities in and around Luanda. Activities range from visiting Angolan schools and cultural sites to collaborating with local organizations to raise funds and accomplish community projects.

Vibrant and inclusive. At the end of any school day, you will find friends chatting in the shade of the jango, students sharing their learning and teachers engaging with families. Our campus is the venue where community members connect and build lifelong friendships. We look forward to welcoming you to the LIS community.

Jogathon 2018

Dear LIS community,

This year’s Jogathon was a huge success. We, as the Jogathon team, want to congratulate and thank everyone who aided in the preparation process. We would like to thank all the teachers who woke up early on a Saturday to go pick up the children from Casa das Crianças, the teachers who helped provide food, and the teachers who provided us with all the resources we needed to make this event as successful as possible. We also would like to thank the student volunteers who arrived early morning to help us complete the setup of the event, count laps, take photos and give out shoes to the orphans were all critical to the Jogathon. Most importantly, we would like to thank YOU, the LIS community who showed up on the day, that so kindly and generously donated, and cheered on our runners.

It is due to the support from everyone involved that we were able to donate shoes to FOLSCO and raise a staggering 763,700 KWZ! Casa das Crianças is planning on using the funds raised to improve and enlarge the orphanage pantry in order to improve the storage conditions for food at the orphanage.

Excellent job LIS!
